All three of my evening classes are advertised as ‘General’, but what does that mean?
It is another way of saying mixed ability or suitable for all levels.
So a complete beginner may find it challenging, but it is still suitable for them.
Someone with many years of practice may know most of the poses, but it will challenge them too.
It does take some skill as a teacher to plan a class that can achieve both of these things, but the feedback I get from my students is that I have achieved this balance.
The methodical, careful approach that Iyengar Yoga is known for, particularly lends itself to General Classes. So if you are thinking of starting Yoga in the new year, you can rest assured these classes will suit you too.
